It's a dead rat. A rather large one, from the lower levels of the catacombs. It must have been left sometime during the night.

There isn't a proper note with it, but there is a small piece of paper that reads

I can't believe I have to have this conversation a second time. I know what you meant this to mean, but there are other ways to express that. Like with your words, and not with corpses.

Humans bring each other meat as a gift all the time

I know. Like I said, I understand. Keaton did the same thing, though his first gift to me was at least alive. Humans don't usually appreciate freshly-slaughtered rats. Whether or not they've eaten rat before.

I doubt people will get mad, at least. I think your reputation will precede you enough on this. You are a fox, after all. And these rats are technically real food.

Sorry, did I not make it clear that I plan to cook and eat at least a quarter of this? I'm no stranger to needing to scrounge to survive, and this will be the first real meat this house has had in months. Over a year, in Nah's case.
